A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a charming addition to the ACOTAR series, offering a cosy, slice-of-life glimpse into the characters we’ve come to love. Yes, it’s a bit cheesy at times, with some dialogue and moments feeling overly sentimental, but I couldn’t help being thoroughly invested. It’s like catching up with old friends during the holidays—heartwarming, familiar, and a little indulgent.
Though the pacing is slower and the stakes aren’t as high as the main series, it lays the groundwork for A Court of Silver Flames beautifully, leaving plenty of hints about what’s to come. My main critique is its brevity; it left me wanting more depth and story. Overall, it’s a delightful interlude, perfect for fans who can’t get enough of the Night Court.
